TO ALL CLUB MEMBERS

iT IS GREAT NEWS TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE HEATH LAKE HAS REOPENED AS OF TODAY FRIDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 2008.

Tests carried out by both the Angling Club and subsequently the EA have proven that the water quality is now good and the council have agreed to us reopening the water. The whole of the lake will be open to fish including the Sussex Road bank and we would ask all members who fish from now on to let us know what they catch, as it will be a start to evaluating the fish stocks that are left.

The Ember

Please note that as of the 1st November we will be unable to fish at The Ember, this is due to the landowner selling and until we can talk to the new ownership over fishing rights we cannot fish this stretch.

The Heath

Just to keep you updated we have taken water samples from the Heath ourselves and these are being analyised by a specialist laboratory, these results should be back with us by the 15/16th October and we will be presenting the findings to the council.

Pike Teach Ins

Can all members please note that all Pike Teach Ins will be moved to Coombe Pond until further notice. The first one will be held on the 27th Sept ( not 28th as in handbook) timings are correct, these will be run by Paul Gray and any already qualified members can attend early to help catch a few fish for the teach in.

You do not have to bring anything with you as it is about fishing handling and care. Paul can be contacted on 01730 821462 after 6.30pm.

You can bring your gear with you if you want as if you pass you will be able to fish on after the course has finished.

The Club have introduced a quantity of small roach and skimmer bream into Harting Coombe Pond. This is the start of a selected and monitored policy of restocking of this water.

The Club have now introduced the second batch of slightly larger roach and bream into Harting Coombe (26/2/08).
